A previous consultation on development proposals for the site was carried out in 2017. The site has now been identified as potential allocation in North Norfolk District Council’s ongoing consultation on additional site allocations and allocation extensions required to address soundness issues raised by the Inspector tasked with examining their new Local Plan.
This consultation is seeking local resident’s views on the latest proposals, in advance of an outline planning application being made later this year. The design has been informed by the Council’s draft Local Plan policy requirements along with surveys and technical studies undertaken to establish the opportunities and constraints of the Site.
Please take your time to look through the content of this website. We would welcome comments on the feedback form to let us know your views. Please send us your comments by Wednesday 11th December 2024.
Richborough will review all the comments received and use them to inform the proposals and will be summarised in the Statement of Community Involvement that will be submitted with the planning application.
There will be a further opportunity for the community to comment on the proposed development when the planning application is submitted to the District Council. Local residents will be notified by the Council of any application made.
Richborough was founded in 2003 and is one of the UK’s most successful specialist land promotion businesses. Richborough supplies the commercial and housebuilding industries with consented land to accelerate the delivery of new homes and jobs.
Working in partnership with private and public sector landowners, estates, charities, trusts, dioceses and local stakeholders, Richborough promotes land via the planning system for residential, commercial and mixed-use development. Focusing heavily on placemaking, local communities and how development can complement and enhance existing infrastructure. The Richborough land promotion model incentivises all parties to ensure that new homes and jobs will be delivered at the earliest opportunity.
Richborough understand the importance of public engagement and welcome the opportunity to hear people’s views on their development proposals. This website and its content have been designed with that in mind and aim to explain the benefits of the development and their potential contribution towards meeting the housing needs of the Town.
Our outline planning application is due to be submitted to North Norfolk District Council in the coming weeks with timings dependent on a range of factors including the completion of the necessary technical work and the consultation process. Once the planning application has been submitted the District Council will invite the views of local residents that will be taken into consideration as part of the determination process.
We will carefully consider all your responses after this consultation. Any questions you ask will be grouped together anonymously and answered in a Statement of Community Involvement that will be submitted as part of the planning application.
All consultation responses are requested by Wednesday 11th December 2024.
